Normally the exception to that would be *if* and only if, the same
information *did in fact* come to you from an unrelated source. Which in
this case did not happen. However, in this case the contract rules. Can you
say, "Disgorged Profits"?

Yep.
You have the option to comply witht the agreement or pass on reading the
info..  It is just that simple.   Noone is forcing anyone to look at the
material.
