Correct A:F Ratio @ WOT?

speaking of probes in manifolds. Is there an optimum position in the ex.
pipe for the O2 sensor? I've seen them in various places, some oem's fit
them about 8-10 inches downstream of the head to tuners sticking them up
tail pipes.
