The board includes the circuit required to drive the Heater and the ion pump. 
 This is not your run of the mill O2 sensor.  It is designed to accurately 
show AF ratios from 10:1 all the way to clean air.  This is in stark contrast 
to standard O2 sensors which are only accurate in a narrow band around 14.7:1.

The purpose of a WB O2 is to use as a tuning aid.  i.e. to be able to know 
where your A/F ratio is under various conditions such as WOT, or cruise.
