That would work; the meter would provide some
damping too.  Get a 1 Maor more sensitive movement 
and drive it directly from the Vout amp without the 
1K resistor.  A center zero would would work, and tie 
the return lead to virtual ground to get rid of the 
2.5V or 3 V offset.
