Difference in MAF sensors?

I'm doing a swap of ECM on my 85 vintage TPI system to install a '165 ECM.
I'm told the MAF sensor is different between 85 and 86/up TPI systems.
Looking at parts online, there are indeed two different part numbers, but
the numbers molded into an 85 and 86/up MAF are the same.

Anybody know what the difference is or if they are interchangeable?
