I make no such accusation. I am not the owner of the Copyright on
the original work, nor have I seen Peter present the original work
as his own. IMHO, I would be well out of bounds to make such an
accusation.

Copyright protects the rights of the author only as far as reaping
benefits of further publication of the work. It doesn't protect the
author from implementation of physical artifacts that might be
described in the work. If you want that, then you either Patent or
Register a design.

Reminder: IANAL.

Copyright entitles readers/viewers/listeners to certain rights
including, but not limited to using extracts under "fair use"
provisions.

> Yep and well over 400 will get to pay for that.

How so? Would those "400" be any worse off if the "40" made their
own boards and the local merchants of the "raw" materials profited
more in the process?

Those in North America can probably source the boards at half the
cost. There's no motivation to buy from Peter unless one either
can't get the board in the USA, or one believes that Peter's is
substantially different to warrant the additional effort and
expense. US-sourced board seem to be offered at about half the
price.

It could be argued that the "400" could be better off for the
benefit of more-accessable distribution entertaining greater
exposure. The feedback to the list from the users of those 40 boards
can provide further insight.

It would be a diminishingly-small minority who would fail to
appreciate the work done so far.

I'm disappointed that some people feel disenchanted by what's going
on. I fail to see how the other people are being "punished", other
than by their own views (and the email traffic this generates!).

Very slowly. I'm trying to run a business (quite unrelated to EFI)
at the same time but much of my "spare" time seems to be taken up
feeding bureaucracies. The cost of a sensor through normal channels
is also prohibitive; too expensive for a "hobby" (up to $800); so
I'm waiting for a group buy with costs closer to what I'm prepared
to spend on something I might blow up in a few seconds...

I endeavour to keep the DDL web page updated with the latest changes
and additional information.
