[Diy_efi] Torque Converter Speed Settings

Hello;
I'm a little behind reading list messages. A little while back, someone was
questioning the settings for getting the TQ coverter to lock-up at a higher
speed. If you were using Tunercat, it appears to me that the High Gears and
Low Gears speed settings in the ECM Constants table are swapped. I tried
adjusting the Low Gears settings to only get lock-up in OD and ended up with
lock-up only in the low gears. So I swapped settings and got lock-up in OD.
Hope this helps. Maybe there is a eprom memory location list somewhere that
is wrong?
Personally, I don't see how the reliability of the TQ converter clutch
should be an issue. When running it with a computer, you should be able to
set the speed vs TPS settings so it only locks at cruising throttle and
would unlock as you stepped on it. I'd sure think that would keep it alive.
The computer unlocks it as fast as I can push the throttle to the floor.
Now, if you lock it with a basic controller or power wire so it remains
locked at all times I could see there being a big problem with it failing.
Probably even harder on it if you try to upshift at full throttle with it
locked.
Peter
