If  I was to use the 1227747 or the 1228746 ECM would I need to change the
connectors considering I have a 1225550 ECM wiring harness in my car.

What year and model truck/car uses the 1227747 and the 1228746 ECM?

Quite a few folks go with the common 1227747 ECM. Found in
many TBI trucks. Can also go with the 1228746 ECM. Found in
some TBI cars. Both drive two P&H TBI injectors. Both have
commented disassemblies available.

Either is a good step up from the '82-'84 ECM.
