Due to a forum member mentioning to me his boat has a flow detector for his
engine cooling intake I contacted the company. They replied back to me and
said it shouldn't take much to make this same technology work with an
automobile. They were going to do some research on the idea but didn't think
there would be much interest.
What I am asking is how many people would want a detector that can tell you
if you have flow through your water pump or not?
This would go on your lower radiator hose and would be intended for use with
an electric water pump. It COULD be used with a standard water pump but
there is really no point in it.
Their normal intake flow detector is less then $70 but on my own I am
guessing the automotive version will be closer to $100.
Please email me at rfulk at mindspring.com if your interested.
I will be tallying results until the 9th to see how many people are
interested.
Please let me know if your just interested but would likely buy one in the
future to go with the water pump you hope to get.
If you want one yesterday to protect the car you already have setup.
Or if you would get an electric water pump if you had one of these.
Please mail directly to me and do not reply to the mail list.
