Fuel Pressure and Pump?

The LT1 is very sensitive to fuel PSI... In an LT1 Caprice you must run 42
PSI....

Anything different and it throws the computer way off.
Wasn't there a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail of the LT1?
It is my understanding you need to feed two lines to the LT1, one is a
return line and one is the feed line. You should not need a separate fuel
regulator since the one on the motor should work fine? (I could be wrong but
I was told the fuel regulator is on the fuel rail...

Does the jeep use an in tank pump? If so and they are of a similar design as
the newer jeeps you could always get a fuel pump for the larger V8. Friend
of mine has a 5.7V8 in his Jeep. Not sure if it is a Jeep motor or a Dodge
motor. I believe his is like a '95 or something.

Subject: Fuel Pressure and Pump?

I'm running an LT1 in my 89 Jeep cherokee and am having fuel pressure
problems. I am wondering if the stock fuel pump will do the trick. The
stock pump was meant to run FI on the Jeep at about 35 lbs. After intalling
the motor it is still running about 35 lbs and I understand the LT1 is
supposed to run in the mid 40s. I bought a new regulator but my gut feel is
that the stock pump is either inadequate or it needs to be replaced. Any
have exprerience here? What are options here? Can I run a second inline
pump? If so, do I need the stock pump at all?

Thanks,
Whit
