Fuel Pressure and Pump?

The LT1 has a regulator on the fuel rail and the Jeep uses an intank pump.
I never checked the pressure until recently when I started having some
strange problems. The car/pump has 120,000 miles on it and the pump may
just be going bad or may be clogged. I have a new adjustable regulator and
filter so my plan is to replace the regulator and the fuel filter and check
the pressure again. I'm pretty sure that won't do the trick but it is an
easy place to start.

I guess I am wondering if the stock pump that is supposed to pump out 35 -39
psi should be able to do a little more. I seems like another 3 psi should
not be a problem. Where I might expect problems is at higher rpms.

Thanks,
Whit
