Getting started-soldering station

When working with integrated circuits and FET transistors,
the iron, work surface, and operator should all be tied into
ground potential. This becomes more critical as the IC
level of complexity (fineness of internal features) increases.
There are well developed methods for doing this, without
endangering the operator. Any grounding connection to
the operator should include at least 100,000 ohms series
resistance for safety.
