555PPC in commercial use--

It appears that Mercury Marine is now using a "PCM 555" ecu (Powertrain
Control Module) which uses the Motorola 555 PPC "Blackoak" processor.

Doubtful that Mercury is building this themselves, mucking around on the
Motorola website indicated that Visteon is the most likely suspect, but ???

Also sounded a bit as though Ford may start using a 555 based ecu in some
models soon.

Sounds as though the thing is set up to be programmable in C++.
