Sounds like the reference angle or point input signal is inverted.   If so
then the rotor phasing may be way off, and explain the goofy idle stuff.
Have a cup of coffee, start with finding true #1 TDC, and work from there,
would be we'd I'd start.
I've never owned a Gen6, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn once
