FWIW I did a test on a PIC16F84A flash data ram and 'wore out' one byte of
flash at over 90 million rewrites - not bad for something that's spec'ed
at 1 million rewrites :)

The test was done continuously (as soon as it finished a write another
begun) so it's possible this number would be higher from the little I
understand flash, but it really is of little consequence as the number
was so high.

As such it took around 5 days to complete - with any additional delays it
would've taken months.
