yes audi does and mitsubishi is working on direct injection as well. sprainy 
fuel before the vavle opens is such a waste of fuel. not to mentions it 
ladens the incoming air and slows velocity. to spray the fuel for the limited 
time the injector is open would proboaly require using a very large and hard 
to contorl injector. unless of course the injector driver was more refined.
