[Diy_efi] sequential injection timing

I thought the LS1 V8 did exactly that, fire at an open intake valve? I
remember seeing drawings (by GM) of the injector spray pattern just =
going
past the space between valve and valve seat and them touting "injector
targetting" as being key.

Just my bad memory perhaps,
Steve

Ever look at the injector pattern, at short pulse widths in slow =
motion?.
An intake valve is closed 3/4 of the time. So like I said earlier, =
the
trick is getting the backflow of exhaust to atomize the fuel.
I have yet to hear of an oem firing the injector in what we'd call a
conventional engine at any time other then valve closed. If you read =
thru
the GNTtype archives you can read up what happens when you try to fire =
the
injector at an open intake valve.

im not a EFI guru but the obeject is the same as in a carberator. =
sheering
the fuel into vapor. most likely the best way to do this is to create a =
90=B0
angle to airflow. keeping the injector close to the vavle is crucial =
for
good
dry flow chareteristics but its not nearly as importnat as sheering the =
fuel
into vapor. the optimum placemnt for the injector would be right before =
the
short side radious in the intake port. and the timing would have it =
squirt
right as the valve began to open. thats my 2cents.
