Actually it's a Win2K box :>) But it has a decent disk subsystem (15k
drives, a very good Compaq 64bit\66mhz RAID controller with a 128mb
cache blah blah) which probably helps with any OS deficiencies.

Yes after reading up on SWISH-E it looks to be pretty cool, thanks Steve

I was thinking of also uploading a ZIP containing the output of running
Mhonarc, but I assume most people here run Windows, and 50000-ish files
in one directory is iffy-but-okay under NTFS, but I wouldn't even think
about it under FAT.  Are you running ReiserFS or ext3 by chance?  I hear
they really fly on directories with tons of small files.  

What we really need is a server to which one can ask the question "show
me messages containing these keywords."  And it looks like Steve will
have that online before too long.  Thanks, Steve.
