You may want to try a 300W power inverter from Sam's club (around $30). I
don't
think the generated square wave should interfere with the computer.

If you wanted to build an analog supply, all you may need to do is buy a
couple 
IC regulator chips. Depending on the current, you might need a pass
transistor
to handle it.

The powersupply is the challenge for me.  I'm not an analog guy. <grin>
