ok to add to this subject. knock sensors are fairly touchy. to tone them down 
for cars with solid lifters and noisy pistons. ( forged pistons tend to make 
noise when cold) use a little bit of teflon tape around the threads to tone 
the sensor down. ive found one wrap of tape recues sensitivity but about 5% 
or so. its a rough average. but with a little bit of tweaking they can be 
honed in on niosy engines.
