You bet.
Pro-M says on their website that 95% of returned MAFs are due to dirty
elements.
They say it can cause the maf to read up to 20% lean.
I was hoping that was the problem on mine but it wasn't.
Still detonating :(

Also most dirty MAF elements are do to over oiling by K&N filter users.
I doubt Ford has any procedures documented for that, but Pro-M has seen
more than their fair share.

The make a lot more per dollar on labor than they do
on parts, in most cases.  So there may be incentive
after all.
