Hi Sid

You may wish to explore a technique used for measuring CHT (cylinder head
temperature) on some aircraft engines. You can obtain thermocouple sensors that
are ring-shaped and fit under the spark plug seat. You may be able to get these
mail order through the Aircraft Specialty and Spruce catalogue.Try to contact
the local (Brisbane) branch of SAAA (Sports Aircraft Association of Australia).
One of the flying clubs at Archerfield may know.
Hope that helps.

Cheers
Don
