Are you on the MegaJolt yahoo group? They are working on developing a
programmable ignition system based on Ford's EDIS system.

Subject: [Diy_efi] Ignition Semiconductor components?
Hello Everyone!
I am designing and building a programmable igniton controller...on the
same lines as the one mentioned in the DIY EFI website...but with
diffrent features and specs... :)
I wanted some help on the solid state semiconductors used in ignition
modules. Currently i have built using discrete power devices and lots of
protection circuits. After researching on the web i came to know that
there are devices now which totally eliminate the protection circuitry
and are more reliable. IGBT's and newer Power Transistors that is. I
would really appreciate some help on this if anyone has access to such
device application information.=20
Thank you for your time and help!
Stay well.
Sendhil.
