sad case of being in the lab late working and actually needing
the pc for some light relief <sigh>

Have read the posts on this and wonder if the ECU isnt getting a
false knock signal or overly strong knock signal due to degraded
system components such as the 'bosch amp' which could have a failing
suppression cap in it - nothing will be damaged by adding an external
suppresion cap from ign +ve of coil to chassis ground, assuming
you put it in the right place with god termination,
So no paranoia needed over possible damage ;)
