[Diy_efi] Four Gas Analyzer - What to look for

A few weeks back there was a discussion involving 4-Gas analyzers.

My local repair shop has one sitting un-used and may sell it to me. I would
be using it to polish the tune on my 1994 Mustang GT. It sounds like our
county here in PA will be requiring emissions testing within the next year,
I don't want to be at the mercy of the local shops, most of them are #@%&*.

The unit is a ES Tech/Pro Electronic Specialties, model 2010, Emissions
Analyzer-Scanner Reader. The shop had a spring jump out of a spring
compressor and it broke the computer monitor. I assume a typical monitor
could fix that. He's never used it and it still looks new.

Questions:

1- Will this be of any use with an inertial chasis dyno? (all I have access
to)

2- If I provide a 110 VAC power source in my car can I get useful data at
cruise on the highway?

3- Has anyone used this make or model analyzer?

4- Are there sensing elements that deteriorate over time from use or NO use?

5- Does a system like this require consumable gases?

6- Any other considerations I should be aware of?

7- What's the lowest cost NEW analyzer that would be worth considering
instead.

I will read the book on it tonight.

Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Dan Nicoson
