Ok my problem is the IAC is not doing what it is programmed to do. The valve
is definitely opening for some reason. I have a quick question before I
trace the 4 wires connected to it. If I disconnect the TPS the engine light
goes on. That makes sense. Now if I disconnect the IAC the engine light does
NOT go on. How come? Shouldn't the '747 see a problem there??

Subject: High idle still

Hi all,

I am still trouble shooting my out of the blue high idle problem. I have
some more data and hopefully someone can point my in the right direction for
a fix. Once again it is a '747 on 4.2L I6. Been running it with my modified
program for a couple of years now with no problems. What I currently have
all of a sudden is a very high idle when I first start up (2500 vs 800). If
I get on the highway and drive for say 15 -30 mins and then come to a stop
it seems to be ok. Turn off the motor go inside for 30 mins and then restart
it and it goes high again. I have replaced the IAC and TPS but that has not
fixed the problem. Additionally if I unhook the connection to the IAC and
start it up it still idles high. What do you suggest I should look at next?
