[Diy_efi] Just a litlle question...

Hi everyone.
I'm just a new guy in this stuff, I live in México and own a GM 1986 S10 2.8 
pick-up truck. Since I bought it the "check engine" light bulb is blinking, 
not just turned on, it is blinking. A friend of mine helped me to check the 
computer codes and we got the 51 code, I guess, that is for a bad eprom... 
That´s why I'm doing this, the truck was runnig fine, but now it is not.  
Just the temp rises and the engine start to fail, I saw the injectors jet, 
and they reduce the flow of gas as you step on the pedal.
I really don´t have too much resources (money) and if I go to a mechanic 
shop I know they will pull off my eyes...
Any advice????
