Don't go too far overboard, it's a 32bit processor, running at 40MHz (or
56MHz).  It uses the PowerPC type architecture, and includes a floating
point unit (from what I recall :s )

It does however dwarf the old model OEM ECU's.  It's being touted by
Motorola as the new device to use for ECU's however :)  So OEM's will be
designing with them as well :) just not to the same level of integration.
