Yet, still it does.
When I first encountered the *problem*, the Dealershit Service Manager told me:
"Oh, that's Normal." Normal? I don't fookin' think so, do you mean that's
common? "Uh, yeah, I guess so." 5-Star Dealer here.
The actual "cure" for the problem is a (non-reversible) re-flash of the engine
computer that involves retarded timing tables, and something to do with EGR
control. The memo on it basically says "You WILL lose power, and you WILL lose
gas mileage with this re-flash."
No thank you, it doesn't ping that bad.
I was really disappointed with DC over this. Now, with the way they're handling
the "increased shareholder value" strategy (basically cutting jobs/pay to make
the bottom line look better), I doubt I'll EVER buy a new Chrysler product
again.
