Hi There,
I bought a 2002 Nissan Maxima 3.5L V6 6 speed manual, as a donor for =
a mid-engined track car. The Maxima was a theft recovery and did not =
have an ECU in it when I received it. I have purchased a remanufactured =
ECU, but no luck starting it. There is no spark, though the engine =
turns over freely. =20
I have found out that the ECU, IMMU and Key are part of a vehicle =
immobilization system called NATS. Can the ECU be modified to operate =
with the NATS disabled and/or eliminated? =20
I still have the engine and trans in the car as I want to start it =
there before taking it out to install in the track car chassis. =
Ideally, I would like to be able to turn the ECU on with a dash mounted =
switch, and a button to engage the starter. I am about to break down =
and have the car towed to the Nissan dealer to have the key. IMMU and =
ECU initialized, so that I can start the car. Any insight you can share =
about my plans would be appreciated. G;-)
