Probably the simplest and most obvious would be to go
to your local theatrical lighting and rigging shop,
and get a scrap of a Roscoe +3 neutral density gel
(essentially a perfectly gray transparency) and tape a
slice of it over the LEDs.  Very quick, very cheap,
easily replaceable, and no soldering required.  ;)
