You can also order small quantity simple two layer boards at very reasonable
prices.
I know of several places that offer $33 boards (excluding shipping), I'm
pretty sure minimum quantity is something silly like 2.
They get cheaper if you buy over 5 or something to, so it's not like you'd
need a really big group buy to make it economically viable.  Infact, even if
you just want a single board, it's probably worth getting two.  That way you
don't have to worry if you really mess up with the soldering...

You can etch the board yourself, and I believe you can still buy boards if
you email some of the guys involved in creating that project.

You can also perfboard it, not a big deal.
