I am catching up on e-mails so my apologises for the late reply.
Corky Bell in his book Maximum Boost advises that the maximum air velocity
should be less than 300 ft/sec (90m/sec) to keep the flow losses
acceptable. Velocity can be calculated by the formula:
Velocity = Airflow rate (cfm) divided by Area of Throttle body (sq inches)
... and cfm is calculated by engine size (cu in) divided by 1728 multipied
by max rpm divided by 2
