The Ford truck pump will be designed for the higher pressures of port
injection.  (Ford jumped directly from carbs to port injection on their
trucks.)

An 82 or 83 or so T-bird with a CFI (aka TBI) 5.0 has a frame mounted
pump that perhaps is better matched to the low pressure needs of a TBI
system.
