[Diy_efi] Air fuel meters

I know this group is concerned with fuel injection but this has something
to do with air fuel meters.
On my carburated Yugo, I've got the air fuel meter connected to a one wire
Bosch O2 sensor.
I installed a Garrett T25 from a Saab 9000 and recycled the downpipe so the
sensor is directly after the turbo. It's a "new" sensor. Meaning when I put
the engine together I installed a new sensor.
Originally it seemed to work. But now when I start the car, the meter shows
one light bar on the lean side (which I know is normal) and as the engine
warms up the number of lights gradually increases. After several minutes up
all light bars on the meter are lit up.
If I check the fuel mixture using the Gunson's Colortune device, it shows a
nice blue flame. Then if I look at my meter, it's showing it's pegged out
toward lean. The engine is not smoking so I know the fuel mixture is correct.
During the tuning process, I had some problems with the carburator flooding
out because I couldn't get the fuel pressure correct. I'm wondering if
during the process the O2 sensor got screwed up and it shorted out. Maybe
it's coated with carbon or when gasoline hit it, fried the sensor.
I would think if this happened the sensor wouldn't be creating a voltage
but as of right now it's acting like it's making .9 volts.
I ran an air/ fuel meter on a Fiat Spider with dual Weber IDFs. This
particular meter I built from plans from this group. It was actually quite
accurate. I used it to set the idle mixture and under acceleration, the
meter would goto rich and under decel, it would go lean.
So I suspected it may just be I was using this meter on a single carbed
engine and was giving me the weird readings.
