Yeah, Tech 1, Tech 2, Mastertech (because it uses Tech 1 cartridges) will 
work. I think my Genisys will also do Vette air bags.

Yes, SIR requires a scan tool to reset most codes. No matter how long you 
disconnect the battery. According to the service manual, DTC 51 (Accident 
detected) can be cleared as a current code, but will always remain a history 
code (INFL REST not illuminated) even after it has been reset.

I keyed on the Catera with the passenger air bag out the other day. It 
stored a code and wouldn't reset itself, had to hook up with the Tech 2 (the 
only tool that will work on a Catera) to clear that one.
