Since Dave was kind enough to bring it up, I should mention for completeness
that TunerPro RT will work fine for ALDL monitoring/logging the 92/93 LT1s
(DAx), but you may run into trouble with 94/95. This is because of the
EE/EEB masks' message schedules spewing out unsolicited data (similar to
$58). You must first send out the mode 8 silence command at the proper time
to get the ECM to shut up before the software can connect.
I will be re-writing the ALDL engine within TunerPro over the next 2 or 3
months to solve this and a few other issues, as well as add a bunch of other
features (histograms, new logging functionality, etc).
Also, TunerPro RT is also free and registration is 100% optional. If you
like it but feel you'd rather not spend the $30, then don't. Contrary to
popular belief (or, to quote one at least), you don't always have to pay if
you want to play! ;-)
While I have your ear (er, eyes), the next version of TunerPro will feature
ALDL data tracing such that you can monitor where in a table (spark, fuel,
etc) the car is actively running. The cells in the spark table, for
instance, will be highlighted based off of the RPM and Load information
being gathered via the ALDL. Look for that release in another couple of
weeks (it currently works quite nicely with my $6E '165).
Let me know if (any of) you have anything else you'd like to see TunerPro
do.
