Sorry Karl, this is nonsense and is misleading to somebody who is genuinely  
asking for guidance.  Connecting a LED to Vss without a current limiting  
resistor will simply destroy it.  An LED will NOT indicate the frequency of  
pulses even approximately, if over about 20 Hz it would simply look permanently  
"on".  I wouldn't expect it to show the pulses from a reluctor, which  
incidentally are NOT a SINE wave.  You seriously expect a LED to be visible  in 
daylight? Jim's question deals with frequency. I'm sorry, and I hate  posting a 
message like this but your answer won't cut it.
