Well brian thats a good point... I would think if its a heat issue then knock should occur slowly and build up as the heat cant escape and then start the incoming fuel igniting.... but if a fuel pump died then its all of a sudden and then as my friend experienced... BAMM... three popped pistons

Am I wrong? Does knock usually start light and become worse? Are the
trends different for NA and boosted engines? What about very high
(15-30 PSI) of boost?
