I was going to say, doesn't it depend on how fast your chip goes through the
loop with regard to physical events? If your micro is fast enough that it
spends most of its time either waiting or re-calculating the same result
then you have "time" to spare on "refinement" routines. If not keep it
simple.

i highly doubt the engine will decelrate fatser then the timming loop.
almost all the factory systems sync up about one rev behind on the older efi
systems. the newer stuff seems very close to real time
