Wow, that got more replies than I thought. I will
further explain my reasoning for wanting to swap the
ecu's. Firstly and mostly I am a GM dealer tech so i
have access to all of the parts and diagrams i need
not to mention that I am obviously more experienced
with them. Secondly and thirdly, I dont like the
complex setup the ka ecu uses and I also want to
change from mass air to speed density metering. I am
actually an "electronics" technician so I dont flinch
at needing to do some rewiring, but the driveability
of the stock ka ecu perplexes me tremendously. Anyone
who has ever owned a nissan car knows that they are so
sensitive and finicky. I know it is possible to chip
the ecm but for me is just more easy to put in good
ole fashioned GM ecm. I was thinking that an ecm for a
mpi sunbird would work great since they are for a 4
cyl mpi motor with a distributor and I think they use
a prom instead of a memcal.
