It really depends on what kind of engine it is, what ambient temperature it 
is used in, bearing clearances, and how much wear is on the engine. I use it 
in my motorcycle, but the oil temp routinely gets into the 275F+ 
range....way too hot for the average car. In short, if you have a gas engine 
with less than 200,000mi on it, I would stay with 10w-30 or 10-40 if the oil 
pressure is where it should be.
