[Diy_efi] comments on reorganizing lists

I personally do not like those forum-style groups one little bit. They're
just too clever for their own good. I see a list as being an on-going
discussion between a group of people with a common interest. Forum-style
does not promote that kind of interaction in my opinion.

As I see it individuals in the list are free to save or delete posts as they
see fit. Any particularly useful posts could always be put on the site's
permanent web pages rather than the sticky post concept of the forum.

I even prefer a Yahoo group to the forum-style any day. By way of example,
Megasquirt moved from a Yahoo group to forum style yet the Yahoo group is
still very active. Maybe its because I haven't learnt how to use forum-style
properly (but then again, there's no learning curve at all with our current
group, or a Yahoo group for that matter.)

For what it's worth.
