There is a diy efi kit that is available.  It has been used on one
cylinders up to Ford 460.

It uses a chip - the best I understand it, the programming of that
chip is already done - but you get to change all of the maps you want
to.

It does use some GM components - sensors and connectors.

This guy seems to be reselling their kit with the addition of the
parts they tell you to order from Digikey.  These auctions have ended,
