As I recall the chevy intake is narrower then the oldsmobile so you might be 
able to make an adapter to use it on the oldsmobile block.

Pretty sure the 403 is a "small block," which on the Oldsmobile the 
essential difference between a small and big block is just the deck height 
of the block.

I do happen to have two caprices in the driveway, one with a small block 
chevy the other with a small block oldsmobile.  Could get some measurements 
to see if it's possible to adapt.

The one good thing is the intake ports and coolant cross over have a 
similiar arrangement as the chevy.  The distributor also is not mounted to 
the intake, it's on the back of the block.
