Yah, I'm adapting an Escort EEC-IV SEFI system to my
Spitfire project. As you said, it's a powerful,
flexible, inexpensive, readily available system. The
MAF makes it easy to get a basic system up and running
on avariety of engines.

There is an active EEC community out there, here's

There is hardware and software support for hacking the
EEC, TwEEcer, Moates, etc. The internals are available
via the J3 adaptor:

The EEC-IV processor is a variant of the Intel 80*86
family, with added I/O for engine control duty.

Many of the program variants have been cracked, but
AFAIK, not the Escort (yet).
