Mitch,
There is nothing wrong with using a GM TPI ECM with tuner tools - if the tools allow adjustment of the calibration parameters you require then it should work fine. There is no magic bullet here with MS or any other aftermarket controller.
>From what I have seen some of the tuner tools operating on a factory ECM work good and can give the adjustability needed. You will just need to look over what you require for your installation and verify that the chosen tuner tools allows you the access you need.
