[Diy_efi] 'Logmaster?' & Facebook formatted as discussion site...

I think a forum would be good as I have been monitoring posts for many years now and have made a minor contribution.

However I needed some information on memcals previously and made a post accordingly and received an email along the lines that I could not ask these questions here.

If a forum format solves this problem then I am all for it, my 2 cents worth.

Meh. Forums are nice in that the information stays there until the forum gets nuked by a virus or whatever. Subscribing to forums results in a totally different, and to me far more annoying, experience. Ultimately, you end up having to use the email to get to the forum post, then delete the email? ugh. Annoying.

I say stick with the mailling list, host your own pics on flickr or dropbox or photobucket or whereever and link to them. The only thing that sucks is that the pics are eventually removed. But that even happens on forums where the pics are linked to external hosting sites, as many of the users do.

URL shorteners are nice, but can be too easily leveraged for malware propagation. Give me the real URL, maybe include a shortened one along with the real one.

You guys know you can have your cake and eat it too right? Most forums also have email service in addition to the web interface. Subscribers can choose the format they prefer.

Agreed. 7 years for me, all searchable through outlook. Better than any forum search engine...
