'7747 bin wanted

We are at close to 4000' elevation here and I can run addtional advance on 
87 octane without detonation. On my 383 Malibu at sea level I used to have 
to run 94 octane to keep it happy but here I can run 87 with a 2 deg. 
retard on the base timing. On 92 octane and 36 deg. total timing it runs 
14.30 @ 95 MPH here.

OK, fine use 0.  Now, if you think about my explainations, and even think a
bit further you'll see the logic in this.  If he can't find the gas to
support that then less will have to do, any action taken is/should be
considered temp. unless he's just going to Mickey Mouse it together, and
ignore doing a proper prom for it.
   I've tried 0-12d initial timing.  I've run from 0-10d hot spark bias, 
and
probably 0-24d cold.  I've run VE's from single digits to into the 20's at
idle.  I've tried numerous IAC pintles.
  I report what works for me.  I've got a 224d @ 050  110 LC 470" lift cam
and it idles at 650-675 in gear..

| OE setting is TDC with EST bypassed for an 89 5.7 TBI-- I ran into some
| weird BL and IAC numbers with one that was over-retarded in base a while
| back--customer never knew about the EST connector in the harness. Are you
| "not" going to get lower IAC counts and a faster (uncontrolled) idle with
