Never played with a 749, so please excuse me if this is common knowledge to
the list. I can comprehend changing the cylinder select, setting the
1bar/2bar MAP flag, finding and changing the injector constants, and
reworking the spark/fuel tables to match a V8 application. This is all fine
and dandy as long as the CPU is in control of things. What
if..............one day the system drops into "limp home mode" (redundant
fuel & spark). Limp home will be terribly screwed up on a V8 will it not?
Is this feature moded through the MEMCAL, like other boxes? Can a person
somehow either 1) calibrate the backup fuel/spark/reference pulse
functions to suit, or 2) defeat the entire feature so that it NEVER
kicks in (ie: no backup to the CPU)? Option #2 sounds most attractive.
Has anyone fiddled with this?

Walt.
